Bromølle Kro is beautifully located in the heart of West Zealand, about 15 miles from the cities of Holbæk, Kalundborg, Slagelse and Sorø.
The old inn is surrounded by some of the finest forests of the country. The area offers plenty of opportunities for walks where you can enjoy the changing seasons – a phenomenon best appreciated in its right element: the forest.
The nearest town of Jyderup lies less than 4 miles away offering train services, but the bus stops right on our doorstep. There is ample parking space for cars and buses on the premises.

Some historical factsThe history of Bromølle Kro goes all the way back to 1198, making it Denmark’s oldest inn location.
Running an inn has not always been a lucrative business. In the 18th century, the proprietors attempted to boost their income by intoxicating the commercial travellers in the local brew, and then by murdering them and throwing their bodies into the local river after which they stole all their valuables from their luggage.
The couple was later found out and hanged from the local gallows near the inn.
Our pleasant restaurant is facing a small river called Åmose Å. Along the entire restaurant, we have made a lovely terrace offering an almost Mediterranean ambience in the summer.
Our comprehensive menu includes all the good, old, traditional dishes combined with a number of new and slightly different ones.
Besides, we offer an exciting and brand new 3-course menu every month, depending on the season. |
